Marquette, Michigan · Upper Peninsula
We're not a faceless company flying in from downstate. We live here, we know this land, and we use professional drone technology to help our community in ways that weren't possible just a few years ago.
Who We Are
With 20,000 people in the city and 65,000 across the county, Marquette isn't a place where you can afford to have a bad reputation. We know that. When you call us, you're calling a neighbor — someone who shops at the same stores, drives the same roads, and genuinely wants to help.
We bring professional-grade drone technology — the same equipment used by large inspection firms and search operations — and we make it accessible to the people and businesses right here in the U.P. No sales pressure, no corporate runaround. Just honest work and straight answers.
"We bring professional-grade technology to the people and places we actually care about — right here at home."

What We Do
Your home works hard to keep you warm through a U.P. winter. Our thermal inspections use infrared imaging to find where heat is sneaking out — missing insulation, air leaks, moisture hiding behind walls — before they turn into big, expensive problems. It pays for itself fast up here where the cold doesn't mess around.

Whether it's solar panels, electrical systems, or miles of power lines, thermal imaging spots failing components and hot spots long before they become outages or hazards. We work with local utilities and property managers to keep critical infrastructure running safely — no scaffolding, no shutdowns, just fast aerial inspection.
When someone is missing, every minute matters. Our thermal-equipped drone can cover terrain in minutes that would take search teams hours on foot — in the dark, in the woods, in weather that grounds other options. We work alongside local emergency services and are ready to mobilize fast. Don't hesitate to reach out.
Thermal imaging detects body heat even in complete darkness or heavy tree cover.
Losing a pet is heartbreaking, and searching the woods or neighborhood on foot often isn't enough. Using thermal imaging, we can detect the heat signature of a dog or cat even at night or in heavy cover. We know how much your animal means to you — we're local, we'll respond quickly, and we'll do everything we can to help.
First impressions sell homes. We capture stunning aerial photos and video that show off a property's lot, location, and surroundings in a way ground-level photos simply can't. Whether you're listing a lakefront cottage or a new build in the county, we'll make it look its absolute best — and get your listing noticed.
Got a business, event, or project worth showing off? We help local companies tell their story from a perspective that stops the scroll. From construction progress to grand opening highlights to tourism content showcasing everything Marquette has to offer — we shoot it, you share it.
The Equipment
We invested in the right tools so we can actually deliver on what we promise. Here's what's in the air when we show up.
This is the drone that makes the serious work possible. The Matrice 4T is a professional-grade aircraft built for exactly the kind of jobs we do here in the U.P. — and it's not cheap to own or operate, but it's the right tool for the job.
It carries four cameras simultaneously: wide-angle, zoom, infrared thermal, and a laser rangefinder. That means when we're scanning a roof for heat loss, searching the woods for a missing person, or inspecting a utility line, we're seeing things the human eye simply can't — even in complete darkness. The thermal sensor detects temperature differences as small as a fraction of a degree.
It flies in winds that would ground most drones, handles Michigan weather better than most, and carries enough battery life to cover real ground on a real job. When we show up with the M4T, we're showing up ready to work.
Don't let the size fool you — the Mini 3 punches well above its weight. Weighing in at under 250 grams, it's nimble, quiet, and surprisingly capable.
This is the drone we reach for when we need beautiful, smooth footage without a lot of fuss — real estate walkthroughs, promotional content, event coverage, or anywhere a smaller footprint makes more sense.
It shoots 4K video and captures sharp, vibrant stills. For clients who want great visuals, the Mini 3 delivers every time.
Why Choose Us
We live and work in Marquette. Our reputation is built here, and we take that seriously. You'll always deal with a real local person, not a call center.
We invested in commercial-grade gear so we can deliver real results — and we price our services fairly for a community of our size.
We operate legally and safely. Every flight is conducted under FAA Part 107 certification, giving you peace of mind that the job is done right.
For search & rescue and lost pet calls especially — we don't drag our feet. Being local means we can respond faster than anyone flying in from elsewhere.
From the lakeshore to the forest, from the city to the county — if you're in the Marquette area, we're your people. We know this terrain, we know this community, and we're proud to serve it.
Whether you're a homeowner, a realtor, a business owner, or a family worried sick about a missing pet — we treat every call like it matters. Because to us, it does.
About
I've called Marquette home my entire life — minus a few years away from 2011 to 2015, which honestly just reminded me how much I didn't want to be anywhere else. I went to MSHS, graduated from NMU with a finance degree in 2010, and came back for good.
These days I live here with my wife, our two kids, and two golden doodles who have absolutely no concept of personal space. It's a full house and I wouldn't trade it.
Before starting Marquette Drone Services, I spent years in the business world — financial consulting, restaurant management, and most recently as a sales and business manager at a local car dealership. That background shapes how I run this business. I know what it means to manage things carefully, treat customers like people, and be accountable for results. You're not calling a faceless company — you're calling a neighbor who has a reputation to uphold in the same town we both live in.
The drones hooked me for two reasons. There's the pure visual side first — aerial photography that stops you in your tracks because you've never seen your neighborhood, your property, or this landscape from that angle before. Marquette from the air is something else entirely.
But the thermal imaging is what really got me. The ability to see heat from the sky — things completely invisible to the naked eye — feels like a superpower. Finding where a house is bleeding heat before a U.P. winter, spotting a failing component on a utility line, or helping locate a missing person after dark. That's work that actually matters.
And when someone calls about a lost pet? I take that one personally. I know exactly what it feels like to have a dog that means everything to your family. I'll be there fast.
